Matsue Kart (Matsue Grand Prix) is a free kart racing game that runs in your browser and takes you through the real streets of Matsue, Japan. Buildings, roads and terrain come from the 3D city model published by Project PLATEAU, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT). No install or sign-up — it plays on PCs and on phones (iPhone and Android).
9.6 km a lap, two laps a race. You start at Matsue Station, cross the Kunibiki Bridge and run north past the Shimane Prefectural Office. The course rounds Matsue Castle by way of the Shiomi-nawate street, heads east below Matsue City Hall and crosses the Shinjiko Ohashi Bridge. At the Lake Shinji Sunset Spot on Route 9 you can see Yomegashima island offshore, and the road returns through Hamanogi to Matsue Station. The castle keep is PLATEAU's LOD3 model. Watch for Ichibata trains at the level crossing — touch one and you spin out.
SOLO PLAY races you against AI karts. ONLINE PLAY is online multiplayer for up to 8 players in the same race, with AI filling any empty seats. Use items and drift mini-turbos to move up the order.
